Male', MALDIVES - Victory coach Mauroof Ahmed (Maatey) stated they are prepared enough during the time frame they got to face New Radiant in the opening game of Cup Winners Cup.

“We have been preparing for the season and we will improve as we play competitive games” Maatey said.

“We are fully prepared for tomorrow’s game, but it’s difficult to say what strategy we will opt for”

“We got very few days to prepare for the season and because of that we couldn’t get a chance to play a pre-season game but it is good we got the chance to play the season opening game”

When asked about their new signings, Maatey said they need time to get along with the team but insisted they will improve.

“They need time to get along and they will improve as they play games”

It’s always been a good show for the supporters when Victory and New Radiant face in a competitive game and Maatey didn’t disagree on that.

“I always say that when blue and red clash it will be entertaining and the supporters will get a good show. Therefore, tomorrow’s (today’s) game will be a thrilling one”

Maatey then added that it’s yet to know whether Ismail Mohamed (Issey) can play any part in the game. Issey suffered a minor foot injury when he was warming down after the last practice held before season opening game. Victory’s physical trainer Zinan said they can only confirm whether Issey can play or not after consulting him today morning.
